Overview[]
In game, the T-72 MBT comes in multiple variants, but all have several similar features. First of all, the T-72 is not a very fast vehicle, but it isn't overly slow either. The T-72 does feature more armor than older tanks such as the T-55, but will be destroyed by more modern tanks such as the M1 Abrams, T-90, and of course, the T-100. The T-72 is armed with a powerful 125mm main gun which will devastate light and medium vehicles, and can even stand up to modern heavy armor. The T-72 is also equipped with a coaxial PKT, which is useful against infantry and light targets and has the ability to deploy a smokescreen for if it gets into a problematic situation. Lastly, the tank is also armed with a 12.7mm NSVT HMG for the Commander which is powerful against infantry, most helicopters, and light vehicles. The T-72's main lacking is its armor, or lack of. Many T-72 tanks are upgraded with reactive armor for extra protection.
